Pride and Joy By Erick Davis When Barack Obama won the Presidential nomination in Nov. 08, the people of former slaves in the US were filled with Joy and Pride at the accomplishment. There was great joy at the countdown on CNN when the western states closed there polls and Mr. Obama was elected President of the United States. Just thinking back to that time still fills me with pride and joy. I can't really compare anything to that moment. The Super Bowl, NBA Championship, World Series, Stanley Cup, World Cup, Olympics, American Idol (Oh, I have to say that when Fantasia Won it was a great feeling of joy and pride for African Americans)
